(Senior-) Backend Engineer

The Role

As a (Senior-) Backend Engineer at Helvetii, you build the core systems that power our document intelligence platform. You design and implement APIs, optimize data pipelines, and ensure our services scale reliably.

You work closely with our AI team to integrate machine learning models into production systems. You care about clean code, solid architecture, and shipping features that make a real difference.

Responsibilities

• Design and build APIs and backend services using Python and TypeScript.
• Develop and optimize data processing pipelines for high-volume document extraction.
• Integrate AI/ML models into production systems with focus on latency and reliability.
• Collaborate with product and AI teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Write tests, documentation, and maintain high code quality standards.

Requirements

• Excellent Python skills.
• Proven track record building and scaling REST APIs and backend services.
• Deep knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, Redis) and message queues.
• Strong understanding of the LLM landscape.
• Solid experience with LLM monitoring and data platforms.
• Excellent grasp of software architecture and design patterns.
• Fluency in English (German is a plus).
